Walter,
the web-guy, said, “You must have a link page! Trade with others
who want their addresses on your site.”
“Walter,” I whined, “I receive lots of offers, but
they are all about commerce. My life-work is love and nature.”
Patiently, Walter groaned, “At least try, Warren.”
So here is my link page, or some approximation thereof: |

“Friends
of The Earth” Lots of eco-protective organizations.
Center for
Biodiversity and Conservation is part of the American Museum
of Natural History. Read their publications. Learn the biodiversity
concept, and then preserve that variety which preserves you. |

| TREES WILL HEAL YOU.
MAKE FRIENDS WITH THEM.
National
Audubon Society Learn their names so you can talk directly to
them. Buy a copy of The Audubon Society’s Field Guide
To North AmericanTrees.
Tree
Finder: A Manual For The Identification of Trees By Their Leaves
by May T. Watts
Read The
Tree by Robert Gray. Deepen your appreciation.
• Plant some trees! You must save the world! I live in Ohio,
where It is 95% deforested. We are in serious trouble. So are you.
• Look up “tree nursery” on your search engine.
Buy some little trees. Plant them. You do not have to own a home
to plant a tree.
• Plant trees for people’s birthdays. Plant trees for
any event. It is really pleasant. Dig a big hole, put some humus
in the hole along with the tree, and add water. The more trees we
have growing, the more oxygen we have to breathe. We need oxygen.
Plant trees! |

| IF YOU WANT TO BE
GROUNDED, YOU NEED SHOES THAT ARE LIKE FEET...
Shoebusters.com
An interesting, inelegant, site that asserts—shod feet support
bodies badly. Ergo, if you hurt or are ill, it may be those Manolo’s.
Flexiblefootwear.com
I get so excited when I discover problem solving with integrity.
These aint Manolo’s.
Keenfootwear.com The Keen
company makes a shoe shaped like a foot. They look funny which adds
to their charm.
Birkenstock.com The classic
ergonomic shoe.
Earth.us Hey Hippies, remember
The Earth Shoe? They are making it again. My take on the negative
heel (lower than the sole) is that it corrects a lordosis (sway
back). If you do not have a lordosis, well...
Ecco.com A danish ergonomic shoe.
Mephisto.com A French foot-like
shoe named after the devil.
Barefooters.org A group
of folks who say, “Let us all walk barefoot, so we can be
healthy and happy." |

| AIR ENTERS YOUR LUNGS
Greaseworks.org
Greasel.com Plantdrive.com
These three sites sell adapters for your diesel engined car, so
you can fill up with used cooking oil. Yes you can! Begin the trip
to auto intelligence by reading: Sliding Home, A complete guide
to Driving Your Diesel on Straight Vegetable Oil, by Ray Holan.
It is available on the above web sites.
AuthenticBreathing.com
My Pal Dennis Lewis will teach you how to breath. Should you need
instruction, read his books and go to his classes—the information
is on his website above.
Coedu.usf.edu
A simple streightforward description of breathing that is delightfully
demystified.
Breathmastery.com
An interesting few pages about breathing with mindfullness, which
makes breathing more effective. You can have some control over this
seemingly automatic process. |
 |
| LYING ON THE EARTH
WarrenGrossman.com Clearly
the only human to discover lying on the earth is yours truly. He
nags his students, harangues his clients, writes books about the
process and asserts that health is to be had in that manner.
TheHealingBed.com
I lie upon the mother to heal, reduce pain and be nourished. My
friend Hope, also knows that the earth can heal. Less crude than
I, Hope eschews mere flinging oneself on the dirt. Visit Hope, and
hopefulness, at the above site. |
 |
| ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE
What
a strange term to mean “not allopathic.” These “alternatives”
includes the ways that most of the earth’s population deal
with pain and illness.
Pitt.edu You
might look at the Alternative Medicine Homepage for a plethora of
lists.
NCCAM.nih The National Institute
of Health also has a page and a program. They are trying to verify
alternative hypotheses using scientific method, never imagining
that intellectual miscegenation is unlikely to work.
Issseem.org The International
Society For The Study of Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine is
a group that publishes a Scientific journal and presents an interesting
annual conference, to provide a venue for scientifically trained
people to explore healing.
Noetic.org The Institute of
Noetic Science conducts and sponsors research into consciousness.
The institute explores phenomena that do not necessarily fit conventional
scientific models. |

| READ SOME BOOKS,
BUT BELIEVE YOUR EXPERIENCE
EmersonCentral.com
The writing of Ralph Waldo Emerson articulates what is so. Study
Nature and Self-Reliance. Remember that he was a transcendentalist.
Transcend means to go through and beyond.
OED.com
The Oxford English Dictionary does more than define. Read
an entry carefully, especially the etymology, and you will master
the word as a concept.
Netterart.com The Atlas
of Human Anatomy by Frank Netter. Frank Netter’s art
teaches anatomy with his artistic excellence—and evokes awe.
Leonardkoren.com Wabi-Sabi
by Leonard Koran. Learn about the aesthetic of the natural, the
accidental and the impermanent. Understand the beauty of nature—and
you will understand the truth.
Vedanta.org The Sermon
on The Mount According To Vedanta Swami Prabhavananda explains
the Sermon on The Mount and The Lord’s prayer by using Hindu
concepts. It all comes together. Really.
The Voice Of The
Earth by Theodore Roszak. The definitive book on ecopsychology,
makes it clear that psychology out of the context of nature is perverse. |

| FOOD?
Sending my readers to web sites for food, breaks
the rules of health, and common sense. Food should be fresh. However,
to learn how to choose food in the land of plenty, is an intellectual
Rubik’s cube. So arm yourself with information, but not from
your government, who must support the food processing industry (interesting
pair of words: “processed food”). The word assimilate
means to make similar to. I doubt if that will happen with Coco-Puffs.
FoodandHealing.com
Read Food And Healing, by Annemarie Colbin. Her prejudice
is macrobiotics. Her intelligence and big picture thinking is worth
the price of the book.
SmallPlanetInstitute.org
Also read the classic Diet For A Small Planet, by Francis
Moore Lappé. Another big picture thinker, with a leaning
toward vegetarianism.
DrWeil.com The productive Andrew
Weil, wrote Eating Well For Optimum Health. It is mostly
self-evident, but chapter two is a fine hundred page summary of
nutrition.
Supersizeme.com Do not
fail to be amused and informed by Morgan Spurlock's 2004 Supersize
Me. It is a good natured experiment shown on a DVD demonstrating
how to die fat, sick and young at your local fast food dispenser
(I do not think restaurant is the appropriate word). |
 |
| MEDITATION
Meditation
is paying attention to one thing at a time. It is the absolute key
to excellence—and maybe peacefulness. This said, you probably
think you need lessons and methodology. Oh Well.
MeditationCenter.com
Here is a cute site. Not too much baloney. It might get you started.
Wikipedia.org
Here is a good overview of meditation types and schools.
InitiateSchool.com The
Initiate School of The Canadian Rocky Mountains in Calgary, AB teach
a meditative process of exploring your consciousness. It is headed
by Zalé Zaviar. I like what they are doing. |
